This cool piece is made of 3 mm thick galvanized steel and keeps your tailgate safely open, even when loaded with a bunch of gear and bikes. It fits many Volkswagen models, including VW T5, T6, T6.1 California, Comfortline, Ocean, Coast, Beach, Bulli, Caddy V, ID.Buzz. But heads up, folks: not every model has the same gas struts. That's why you should measure the length of the thin damper tube (should be at least 214 mm) and the diameter of the thick damper tube (should be max 24 mm) before purchasing. This way you can make sure our tailgate support fits your van perfectly.
And here's a tip: Our tailgate support is not compatible with VW Transporter and Multivan models. There's a separate version for those!
Remember to unlock the support first before closing or moving the tailgate.
