Made from 3 mm thick aluminium, it keeps your tailgate securely open, even when loaded with lots of luggage and bicycles. No more tiring and dangerous holding of the heavy tailgate.
The tailgate prop locks into place automatically as soon as the tailgate is pushed up. This frees both hands and allows you to keep the tailgate safely and accident-free open. To close the tailgate, simply lift the prop briefly. This allows the cylinder of the gas strut to retract smoothly.
It is compatible with the VW T5, T6, T7 Transporter or Multivan. But beware: Not every model has the same gas struts. Therefore, before purchase, you should measure the length of the thin damper tube (should be at least 295 mm) and the diameter of the thick damper tube (should be a maximum of 31 mm).
Our tailgate prop is not compatible with VW California models (Ocean, Coast, Comfortline, Beach). There is a separate version for these!
