Lateral overhang: Stay StVO compliant
The Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) allow cargo to extend up to 40 cm beyond the vehicle lights. Perfect for the Volkswagen T6.1 California with a width of 1904 mm without mirrors. A Molle Board can be mounted on both sides, leaving plenty of room for thick wheel chocks – all under the 2.55 m total width. For poor visibility conditions, we recommend our cool-looking rubber mounts or ratchet straps to secure your load tight.
Rear overhang: More space on your bike rack
To the rear, cargo may extend 1.5 m; for shorter trips under 100 km, even 3 m. With a Molle Board on your bike rack, you can transport quite a bit – like spare tires, fuel canisters, skis, and snowboards. For overhangs of 1 meter or more, a red flag or light is mandatory so your equipment is clearly visible to everyone.
Mounting note and special accessories
